Kelly Haffner, who was in the drivers seat undefeated, and Angela Jackson decided to split first and second place late Sunday afternoon for the women's upper division win. They divided the top money each receiving $575. Kelly had won what looked like an easy match against Jessica Frideres at noon 5-2. Angela already had two tough matches that day beating both June Maiers and Jessica Frideres 5-4. They both had a long drive ahead of them so it made sense. Great shooting though Kelly! Congratulations to both of you!!

Men's Open Division (No Masters Allowed)

Mike Frechette from Winnipeg wins first place, $1,500, in a field of 93 players from across the Midwest and Canada! Mike lost to Jon Yellowega early in the tournament but was smooth meeting up with Jon on the 'B-side' giving him one game (4-1). Which is more than he gave Blake Martell or Jeff Alcott, beating them both 4-0. Blake Martel, a strong Canadian player, won fourth place again, same place he took at Hinckley. Only Somphet Thongsouk gave Mike a struggle. Congratulations Mike! Great shooting!

Men's Open 2nd place

Somphet Thongsouk (h is silent) from Iowa and newcomer to Six Arrows tournaments took second place in the Men's Open winning $1,290. Somphet was in the drivers seat beating out players like Dan Imre, Jon Yellowega, Blair Lawson, and Jeff Alcott until he met up with Mike Frechette from Winnipeg, who was on a winning streak on the 'B-side'. Mike beat Somphet 4-2 in the first match and again 4-3 to take first place winning $1,500! This puts Somphet and Mike in the Men's Masters divisions in future Six Arrows tournaments. Men's Masters Division

Men's Masters 1st place

Rory Hendrickson from Fargo made an astounding win for first place winning $900 in the Men's Masters field. Jeff Clare from Winnipeg was in the drivers seat and put Rory on the losers side Saturday night though it was a tough match 5-4. But Rory was on fire on Sunday starting with a smolder by beating Mike Lowe 5-4. He then took Tony Zierman out with a 5-0 match and beat third place winner Brian Brunelle from Cass Lake 5-1. Rory met up with Jeff Clare and beat him twice with one game at 5-0. Rory had been out with a hand injury but he's back! Congratulations Rory!!

Men's Master's 2nd place

Jeff Clare made a fine showing his first time in the Men's Masters field at this Six Arrows tournament. At Grand Casino Hinckley in September Jeff took first place in the Men's Open moving him into the Masters category (not undefeated though Jeremy Goodner put Jeff on the 'B-side'). At Northern Lights Jeff showed everyone he was definitely Masters calibre by putting Rick LaPointe, Rory Hendrickson, and Brian Brunelle on the 'B-side' to sit in the drivers seat until meeting up with Rory again who put him in second place winning $680. Not bad Jeff! Congratulations and welcome to the Masters field!
